The secretary leads the meeting by reading the main script and by suggesting remedies for explicit shares or cross talk. Usually, the preamble, 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and the promises are passed out to other meeting attendees before the meeting starts. The attendees will then read them out loud when the meeting secretary calls on them. The secretary generally opens the meeting with a prayer and moment of silence and closes the meeting with the Serenity prayer. Meetings typically last 1 hour long.
